Element Energy-led fuel cell bus project gets underwayJanuary 26, 2017
A new initiative that will deploy over 140 zero emission fuel cell buses and associated hydrogen refuelling infrastructure across Europe was launched this week. The project partners met over two days in Cologne (Germany) to kick off the implementation phase of projects that will more than double the number of fuel cell buses operating in Europe and thus support the technology’s transition from a demonstration to an early commercial phase.
Element Energy played a central role in establishing this initiative, having assembled the consortia and led the successful funding applications that will support the projects. Element Energy will continue to facilitate the deployment of fuel cell buses in Europe by coordinating this initiative, which includes the JIVE project (co-funded by the FCH JU) and the MEHRLIN project (co-funded by the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility (Transport) programme).
