Shane Slater

Shane holds a Mechanical Engineering degree (University of Limerick, Ireland) and a PhD in computational fluid dynamics, applied to coal gasification technology (Cambridge University).

He brings analytical, simulation and engineering design skills to the practice, having developed these through his work at the British Antarctic Survey and the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group.

Before Element Energy, Shane was an associate at the multidisciplinary engineers Whitbybird Ltd. While there, he developed his project management skills and acquired an in-depth understanding of issues surrounding the deployment and operation of novel technologies in the energy sector.

Shane is a member of the subgroup on business development, part of the European Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Technology Platform, which was launched in January 2004.
