CFD is a vital tool in the design of electronics packaging and solar thermal devices where overheating needs to be avoided. Design iterations can proceed quickly, leading to a cost-effectively optimised design.

Improvement of fresh air throw by identifying and removing areas of high turbulence.
- Wind turbine augmentation
Use of nearby bluff bodies to accelerate the flow of air through a wind turbine.
