Carbon keys – Planning Key
Designing an appropriate energy strategy for a building development to meet renewable energy production or carbon reduction targets is currently an expensive and time consuming task. The Carbon Keys Planning Key is designed to make this process quick and efficient.
The Carbon Keys ‘Planning Key’ is a tool that helps the user to select an effective energy strategy for any development. It can be used at any stage in the design process, it can also be used on existing building and contains a full suite of retrofit options included within the technologies. It is primarily designed so that the proposed renewable energy technologies will meet carbon or energy reduction targets commonly required through planning conditions.
The Planning Key is based on Element Energy’s extensive knowledge of renewable and low carbon technologies. This up-to-date information combined with a simple step-by-step approach handled by the software can identify the most technically appropriate and most cost effective low and zero carbon systems for your development.
Once the data has been entered, the programme creates auto-generated reports which can be used to show compliance with renewable energy obligations for Local Authority Planning targets or to demonstrate that BREEAM (Ene 5) or Code for Sustainable Homes (Ene 7) credits can be awarded.
