Renewable energy & planning
The Merton 10% Rule requires a reduction in CO2 emissions on a site through using on-site renewable energy. This applies to virtually all new developments in London, and is spreading through other regions of the UK. Current London revisions are increasing the target to 20% with other councils looking at higher levels still. We work with architects and engineers, from early feasibility, to assist with the design and incorporation of renewable and sustainable energy options. The changing planning agenda requires the energy supply and consumption to be considered from the earliest opportunity. Early stage inclusion of new and renewable systems is the most cost-effective route and can lead to fewer design revisions. Three areas: Selected case studies: Last updated: 4 September 2007 |
