Fluid dynamics modelling

Predicting how fluids or gases will behave while still in the design stage saves expensive mistakes. Fluid and thermal analysis using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has become an invaluable tool to de-risk designs and bring them to market earlier.

In all our projects, the first step is to work with your designers to characterise the problem and understand the fundamental issue. This is a critical step as it allows refinement of an efficient modelling approach, free of unnecessary and costly detail, while identifying what is important.

Our analysis and advice is based on many years of experience employing cutting edge CFD simulation tools and practices to solve industrial problems. We provide CFD simulation services to many industries, including the building sector, energy, aerospace and product design. Our CFD advice is supported by engineers with specialist postgraduate degrees in the subject. Our main CFD software tool is Ansys-CFX, which is one of the industry’s leading software tools.

CFD analysis has brought a new dimension to design work. Often the predictions we make are within 3% of the measured values. Our CFD work has achieved aerospace grade QC standards.

We expect our engineers to have a pragmatic hands-on approach to our engineering services. CFD is part of our integrated design service, including concept validation, stress analysis, market size estimation, electronics design and prototype design and manufacture. We provide expertise in the following technical and application areas:
